Real Madrid took all three points in their sixth straight La Liga game last night as they romped to a 4-1 win over Levante.

Los Blancos were seemingly on song at the Ciutat de Valencia as they never really gave the hosts a way back into the game after Vinicius Jr.’s opener.

A Kylian Mbappe brace and a goal from Franco Mastantuono then helped them seal the win comprehensively and solidify their position at the top of the table for another week.

Vinicius overjoyed

Vinicius started on the night for Real Madrid and shared his thoughts on the golazo he scored in the 28th minute.

“Luka Modric taught me how to shoot like this. We miss him. I’m very good at that punch. I hope I can continue to score goals like this,” said Vini.

“It’s one of the most beautiful goals I’ve ever scored and I don’t think I’ve marked like that before. It was a good goal and I’m very happy about that,” he added.

Elaborating on what the win meant for him, the Brazilian said it was crucial especially given the venue involved.

“I’m very happy with the game and the victory. We did very well from the beginning with the pressure and possession. That way we will always win. This is a very difficult field, but whenever I come I can score goals.”

Vinicius then spoke on how he looked forward to the Madrid derby at the weekend and how the team was motivated for the same.

“We are looking forward to it. Now we have to rest and enjoy the victory. I hope we can win on Saturday.”

“We have won all the games so far and we want to continue like this until the end of the season to continue gaining confidence and titles, which is the most important thing,” he added.

The player was finally asked what the key was to the team’s success, to which he said,

“Defence, unity, and teamwork are key. If we continue like this, I think we can succeed at the end of the season.”

Dani Ceballos also spoke to the media after the game and commented on the importance of taking all three points in the complicated away fixture.

“We knew the importance of going well on a field like Levante, which was very complicated and rivals had come who had cost them in the first minutes,” noted the midfielder.

“We have come out with a lot of intensity and the team has played a very complete game both offensively and defensively,” he said.

Speaking about his role and the team’s performance against Levante, the Spaniard said:

“I keep the game of the whole team at the collective level in attack, but there are also things to improve. In the second half, we complicated the game in the first ten minutes.”

“Then we get down to work again and manage to lift it. In general, it has been a very complete match,” he added.

Ceballos then commented on his individual performance on the night and how it was to play a major role after two games.

“I had not participated for two games, but the competitiveness in this team is very high and together we have to contribute our grain of sand. On a personal level, I have found myself very well and with a lot of confidence with and without the ball.”

Looking ahead to the Madrid derby next week, the midfielder was confident of his team’s chances, saying:

“It’s a derby and away from home motivates us even more. I have a very nice memory of last year qualifying for the Champions League and we have to play a very serious game if we want to come out leaders and be as high as possible near the break.

“We have to play a very complete game.”
