Vinicius has fallen out with Real Madrid supporters after weeks of boos, his form and popularity at a low that puts his future under scrutiny. He is 25 and on a run of 14 matches without a goal, with talks to extend on hold and his deal running to June 2027.
Marca reported on Monday that 86% of fans responding to a poll favoured selling him, saying his situation at Real felt beyond repair.
The rupture traces back to his fury at being substituted during the 2-1 Clásico on 26 October. Two weeks ago, he was whistled in the 1-2 Champions League loss to Manchester City after poor decisions and stray finishing.
A week ago, his laughter on the bench after Talavera’s second goal in a 3-2 Copa del Rey scare jarred with supporters. The discontent peaked last Saturday, when he was jeered on 83 minutes as Sevilla were beaten 2-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Bruised by the backlash, he switched his Instagram profile picture from a Real shirt to Brazil colours, then posted match images followed by an ellipsis.
Beyond behaviour, output has dipped. He has scored only 13 times in 61 matches in 2025, a stark contrast to Kylian Mbappé, underlining a crisis of consistency and confidence.
Saudi clubs have courted him for two seasons, but neither side plan a winter exit. Real want to extend a forward they see as a priceless asset, though he must reset quickly to avoid a break.
