A bombshell report from Defensa Central has revealed growing tension at Real Madrid, with Vinicius Jr. issuing a shocking ultimatum to the club’s hierarchy during ongoing contract renewal discussions.

According to the outlet, the Brazilian forward has told club president Florentino Perez in no uncertain terms that he will not sign a new contract if Xabi Alonso continues as manager.

The conversation is said to have taken place only a few days ago, sending shockwaves through the Santiago Bernabeu offices.

Unforeseen headache for Real Madrid

At the heart of this issue lies Vinicius’ dissatisfaction with Alonso’s approach.

The forward is believed to be frustrated by what he perceives as a lack of trust and respect from the new coach.

Alonso’s tactical discipline and merit-based team selections have seen Vinicius benched or substituted more often than not this season, something that has reportedly not sat well with the Brazilian, who considers himself the club’s main star and face of the project.

Perez, on the other hand, is said to be in a delicate position. The president is determined to tie Vinicius down with a long-term deal and sees him as a vital part of the club’s future.

Yet, Alonso’s stance and authority over the dressing room have earned him significant respect internally, and Perez is reluctant to undermine his manager’s control for the sake of one player, no matter how talented.

So now what?

This standoff has become one of the most sensitive topics inside Real Madrid

Vinicius’ current contract runs until 2027, meaning that if the situation is not resolved soon, he could begin negotiating with other clubs soon and potentially walk away for free.

While it remains unclear whether this ultimatum will genuinely influence Perez’s decision, what is certain is that the harmony between Real Madrid’s star forward and the manager appears deeply fractured.
