Now a pundit, Jamie Carragher responded to José Mourinho's comments regarding Vinicius Jr's celebration during the first leg of the Champions League playoff between Benfica and Real Madrid (0-1). On the CBS Sports set, the Liverpool legend denounced what he sees as a form of inconsistency.

"Everyone can celebrate however they want and Vinicius should not be subjected to racist abuse. It's a bit hypocritical coming from Mourinho. We remember him running down the touchline at Old Trafford or asking Liverpool fans to be quiet in a cup final." he said.

According to Carragher, the Brazilian "scored a stunning goal in the Champions League and has every right to celebrate however he wants."
