Real Madrid forward Vinícius Júnior has welcomed the application of the Prestianni Law, speaking again on the subject on Domingão com Huck.
"These achievements off the pitch are much more important than those I manage on it. That way I help many more people. It is true progress is slow, but I hope it keeps advancing so the next generation do not have to suffer the same," he said.
"I have a seven-year-old brother and I wish he never has to live with racism. I want to do great things on the pitch, but also continue to inspire young black people who do not have the voice I have," the 25-year-old added.
Prestianni received a total six-match FIFA suspension, with three matches suspended for two years.
FIFA later accepted UEFA’s request to extend the punishment worldwide, allowing him to serve the ban in both club and international football.
As he was not called up for the World Cup, he will serve the remaining games in European competition for the Eagles. The 20-year-old will not be available for the Europa League second qualifying round on 23 and 30 July against St. Gallen.
