Vipotnik header lifts Swansea to 18th

Swansea City beat Oxford United 1-0 at the Kassam Stadium to climb from 20th to 18th in the Championship.

The winner came in the 13th minute when Zan Vipotnik glanced in Josh Tymon's set-piece cross from the centre of the box.

Lawrence Vigouroux kept Swansea in front with smart stops from Stanley Mills (17.) and Brian De Keersmaecker (24.).

After the hour, substitutes added fresh legs for Swansea and Jamie Cumming denied Ronald from close range (68.), before blocking Vipotnik's header late on (80.).

Swansea finished with 52.3% possession and five shots on target from 10 attempts. Oxford registered 11 attempts and hit the target twice.

Oxford slip from 21st to 22nd and remain in the relegation zone. Swansea rise from 20th to 18th. Next up, Oxford visit Ipswich Town. Swansea host West Bromwich Albion.
