Vitinha has established himself as one of the world's premier midfielders atParis Saint-Germain, having had an influential role on the club's quadruple success in 2024-25.
The Portugal international's contribution to PSG's successful season, and Portugal's Nations League triumph, saw the 26-year-old place third in the Ballon d'Or.
He's had another excellent campaign for Luis Enrique's side and leadsLigue 1 for assists this season, with seven.
Vitinha was the highest-ranked midfielder in the 2025 Ballon d'Or vote, and believes he is now in the conversation as the best in his position. However, he stated his belief that Pedri is the number one, hailing the Barcelona talent as 'magical'.
“I would put Pedri at the top of the list," Vitinha toldCanal 11 when asked about the best midfielder in the world.
"He is magical, it is spectacular to see him play. When you play against him, you understand him even better."
Pedri aside, Vitinha ranked Portugal teammates Joao Neves andBruno Fernandes as other names among the world's best. That trio will form the engine room of the national side when Portugal travel to the 2026 World Cup this summer.
“Top three? I would go with Joao Neves and Bruno Fernandes. They are both on either side of me and Pedri. So, I don't have a top three but a top four."
