Flamengo have been boosted by the return of attacker Vitinho to full training.
The Rubro-Negro’s number 11 has had an injury-disrupted season, featuring in only nine games in all competitions to date.
That means he has missed 15 fixtures, and has not been involved in match action since sustaining a thigh injury in the first leg of the Campeonato Carioca final against Fluminense at the end of March.
It was hoped the 28-year-old would play some part in Saturday’s 1-0 home win over Goiás.
However he was not in the squad as Pedro’s first-half strike helped the Mengão record just their second win of the Brasilerão campaign.
The former CSKA Moscow man was seen in photos posted on the club’s Twitter account from Sunday’s session at Ninho do Urubu.
Vitinho should almost certainly see his first league action of the season when Flamengo face Fluminense next Sunday, but may also get some minutes in Tuesday’s Copa Libertadores group stage dead rubber at home to Peruvian side Sporting Cristal.
