Vítor Baía has marked 23 years since Porto beat Celtic 3-2 after extra time in Seville to win the UEFA Cup, reflecting on the night’s lasting impact.
The former Portugal international said in a social media post that the triumph was more than a title, the start of a golden era built on ambition, unity, talent and an unshakeable belief that together they could conquer the world, and that, although years have passed, the memory remains vivid because some teams win trophies while others enter eternity.
He was at Estádio do Dragão for Porto’s final game of the season, a 1-0 win over Santa Clara.
He was alongside João Pinto.
