Vitor Pereira says reaching a new Nottingham Forest contract “will not be difficult” after guiding the club to Premier League safety and a Europa League semi-final.
The Portuguese, appointed in February and with 12 months left on his deal, plans talks with club officials after a short break. According to The Telegraph, Forest also want to improve terms for Player of the Season Neco Williams, plus Ibrahim Sangare and Nicolas Dominguez.
"I will have a meeting. They want that I stay, I want to stay. It's not difficult to find an agreement." He was speaking to BBC’s Match of the Day.
Before Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Bournemouth, after which Forest finished 16th, defender Murillo agreed a new contract to 2030, which Pereira called a statement of intent.
"I think we need time together to build something more consistent and build the connections. We didn’t have time," the head coach said.
Reflecting on a gruelling schedule, Pereira added: "We won our Champions League. For me, we won the Champions League because our Champions League was to be competing in the Premier League again next season."
