Vitor Pereira has been handed an injury boost before his first match as Nottingham Forest head coach, with Murillo in line for a return against Fenerbahce.
According to Nottingham Post, the defender has missed the past two games with a calf problem but travelled to Istanbul and trained on the Chobani Stadyumu pitch on Wednesday evening. He could feature in the Europa League play-off first leg, which kicks off at 5.45pm.
Pereira said Murillo has been working with the group, so he is in contention to play.
Forest have also added goalkeeper Stefan Ortega to their Europa League squad, replacing the injured Matz Sels. Ortega was not in the revised list submitted at the start of the month, he is now eligible to feature as they chase a place in the last 16.
Sels has been sidelined since a groin injury in the first half of the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace a little more than a fortnight ago. Pereira does not think it is a long-term issue, saying the Belgian is recovering well and that they will see.
Appointed on Sunday as Sean Dyche’s replacement, Pereira accepts the primary task is Premier League survival, while he also wants Forest’s European run to continue. He is confident in his players and believes a win could help things click and restore belief. The Portuguese previously had two spells in charge of Fenerbahce.
