Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Vitor Pereira is reportedly not in immediate danger of being sacked, despite the club’s miserable run this season.

The Midlands outfit slumped to their seventh Premier League defeat on Sunday at the hands of promoted side Burnley

Zian Flemming’s first-half double put the visitors in the driving seat, but Wolves managed to level the scores through Jorgen Strand Larsen’s penalty and Marshall Munetsi’ header before the break.

The match was heading for a draw when substitute Lyle Foster popped up with the winner in injury-time.

Wolves’ supporters made their feelings known at full-time, chanting ‘sacked in the morning’ towards manager Pereira.

But journalist Alex Crook reports the Portuguese boss is not in immediate danger of losing his job.

The club’s board are clearly not happy with the dismal results and the situation could change if they sense any dressing room unrest.

Pereira replaced Gary O’Neil as Wolves manager in December 2024.

The Old Gold were languishing in 19th place at the time of his appointment. But he inspired a brilliant comeback during the second-half of the season to ensure their top-flight survival with 17 points above the relegation zone.

However, things have turned out to be very different for him this campaign, as Wolves are still searching for their first league victory and currently sit bottom of the standings with two points

Their struggles can also be attributed to the summer departures of key players Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri to Manchester United and Manchester City respectively.
