According to Glorioso 1904, Real Madrid will offer José Mourinho a three-year contract, despite Benfica’s hierarchy wanting to keep him.

The report notes Mourinho continues to be strongly linked with a return to Spain, specifically to Madrid, with a significant package under consideration.

It is suggested that, if a three-year proposal is put in front of him, the objective would be to embark on a medium-term project at the club.

The report argues a manager needs time to make his mark, and it does not envisage Madrid hiring Mourinho on less than three years, or, at the very least, offering a longer project than Benfica are providing.

On Benfica’s position, it is said the club do not control the situation, that Rui Costa wants Mourinho to stay, yet powerful forces influence these decisions.

The report also states Rui Costa has voiced that wish inside and outside the club, and there is no doubt internally about wanting Mourinho’s continuity.
