Vitória are closing in on a permanent deal for Vasco forward David, with the clubs aligning final details for a free transfer, according to Globo.com.
The player and Vitória are still discussing contract length, with his camp proposing a three-year deal.
The move is set to be free due to an agreement that will see Vitória and Vasco each keep 50 percent of the player’s economic rights.
Talks were revived in recent days, though Vitória’s interest dates back to the end of last year. Initial discussions faltered as Vasco would only accept a loan with option or obligation to buy on terms that did not satisfy Vitória.
David joined Vasco at the start of 2024. He has nine goals and seven assists in 71 competitive appearances over the past two years, with two goals and three assists in 30 matches this season.
A Vitória academy graduate, he played for the senior side from 2015 to 2017, recording 109 games, 16 goals and eight assists.
