Corinthians visit Vitória at 20:00 on Saturday at Barradão in the 12th round of the Brasileirão. Vitória will be without centre-back Cacá, who is on loan from Corinthians. The club said on their website that he will miss the game.

The 26-year-old has started regularly since arriving in February and scored in last round’s 2-0 win over São Paulo. After that match he said president Fábio Mota intended to pay the clause fee and told him to stay calm and be ready to face Corinthians.

He was one booking away from a ban, which would have ruled him out with a third yellow. Regardless, he will sit out against his parent club. The loan includes a clause to make the move permanent if Vitória stay in Serie A, and the club are covering his wages.

Cacá fell out of favour under Dorival Júnior at Corinthians and early interest from Athletico-PR did not progress. This year he slipped further back after Gabriel Paulista arrived to partner Gustavo Henrique.

Even after Félix Torres left, he was behind André Ramalho and João Pedro Tchoca, making only one appearance for Corinthians this season. He first joined in March 2024 on loan from Tokushima Vortis, triggered a 2,200-minute clause in August, and the 2 million dollar purchase was finalised in December 2024, still outstanding.

He has played 72 games for Corinthians, 65 as a starter, with eight goals and one assist, winning the 2025 Paulista and Copa do Brasil. A win on Saturday could lift Fernando Diniz’s side from 16th to 11th depending on other results.
