Vladimir Petkovic leaves Algeria role after 29 months in charge

Vladimir Petkovic has left his role as Algeria head coach after 29 months. The Algerian Football Federation said the contract ended by mutual consent on Monday, adding thanks to Petkovic and his staff for their professionalism and wishing them success.

The 62-year-old had been under pressure since a 2-0 defeat to Nigeria in the quarter-finals of the last Africa Cup of Nations, followed by a 2-0 loss to Switzerland in the World Cup round of 16.
