Dusan Vlahovic’s future at Juventus remains unresolved, but there’s now clarity on the short term after the striker and the club reached what new CEO Damien Comolli described as a “pact” to continue together until the end of the season.

According to Tuttosport, via IlBianconero, both sides agreed to postpone contract talks until next summer, when Juventus will have a clearer idea of their Champions League qualification prospects.

Indeed, Vlahovic will hopefully have a better sense of his market options too.

As Vlahovic recovers form at Juventus, contract talks stall

The Serbian forward, who resisted pressure to leave during the summer, has repaid the club’s faith with six Serie A goals, emerging as a reliable source of output for the Bianconeri attack.

However, negotiations for a new deal remain complicated.

Juventus are reluctant to offer a salary beyond €8m per season, with some figures inside the club considering such an investment too risky given the former Fiorentina man’s previous inconsistency and injury record.

Vlahovic is currently the highest paid player in Serie A and it is not sustainable for the Bianconeri to continue paying him what he earns now.

For now, Vlahovic’s performances will decide his long-term future.

The forward is settled and confident in Turin, aware of his growing importance and leadership role in the squad. However, to earn a renewed commitment, he’ll need to prove his value on the pitch between now and June.
