Chelsea have done really well clearing out the majority of the ten players they wanted to move on at the start of the summer.

From the original list, only Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell will remain once Axel Disasi completed a move to Bournemouth.

But there are more than just the 10 to be considered. Those are first team or former first team players. There are plenty of youngsters still looking for a destination, and among them is Genesis Antwi.

We first reported on interest in the young wing back a week ago, with the news emerging on Twitter that Chelsea were considering selling the academy product to their sister club Strasbourg. The player and his family had already apparently visited the Alsatians’ training ground to get a feel for it, making a move seem close.

More options open up for talented youngster

Today’s update is from Sacha Tavolieri, who adds a new name to the mix. He confirms that Antwi could go to Strasbourg, and that it would be a “permanent move” not a loan.

But also thrown into the mix are Udinese, who are apparently interested in taking the Sweden international on loan.

Genesis should stay in BlueCo orbit regardless of short term plans

Genesis has such a bright future, and we can’t imagine Chelsea would do anything which takes him out of the BlueCo orbit. A loan to somewhere he can play a lot is ideal, or a sale to Strasbourg which can function in much the same with without taking up a precious loan slot.

He is clearly ready to step up from academy football though, so we can expect a move of some sort to materialise before next week is out. That will take a really efficient summer another step towards completion.
