Walsall have signed Scottish forward Andrew Dallas on a two-year deal, their first summer addition under new head coach Lee Grant. The 26-year-old will formally arrive on one July after his Barnsley contract ends.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, Dallas joins following his release from the League One club.
He scored once in five outings for Barnsley after signing in 2023, then impressed on loan at Southend United last term with 17 goals and three assists in 41 National League appearances.
The striker also hit five for Barrow and three for Morecambe in League Two during loan spells in 2024-25.
Before moving to Oakwell, he struck 34 in 83 for Solihull Moors and seven in 14 for Chesterfield in 2023, reaching the play-off final with both in successive seasons.
Dallas came through Rangers, moved to Cambridge United after loans at Stenhousemuir and Greenock Morton, making only 10 starts, then found form at Weymouth with 12 in 25. His Barnsley stint also included loans at Kilmarnock and Oldham Athletic.
His arrival strengthens Walsall’s attack after the departures of Daniel Kanu, Jamille Matt and Aaron Loupalo-Bi.
Kanu led the scoring with 18 goals during his loan from Charlton Athletic last season. Matt, the former captain, left after three-and-a-half years at Bescot and has joined eighth-tier Bromsgrove Sporting. Loupalo-Bi, 20, made 16 appearances following a January loan from Fulham under-21s, scoring once, and before Dallas signed, Aaron Pressley, who netted seven last term, was the only striker contracted for next season.
