The burgeoning talent of Kaizer Chiefs' young striker, Wandile Duba, has not gone unnoticed on the global stage. According to his representative, Mike Makaab, the player's promising performances have attracted concrete interest from the wealthy Saudi Arabian professional league.

Makaab, who acts as the guardian of Duba's career, confirmed that formal enquiries were made regarding a potential transfer for the rising star. This potential move would have followed a growing trend of Saudi clubs looking to South Africa's Premier Soccer League (PSL) for emerging talent, a path recently taken by Orlando Pirates' Mohau Nkota.

However, the much-speculated transfer has reached a dead end. Makaab revealed that while the interest was genuine and serious, the proposed deal ultimately collapsed. "Yes, there was interest in Wandile Duba from Saudi Arabia," Makaab stated to FARPost, "but the move didn’t materialise as the player is still with Kaizer Chiefs."

This international attention comes as no great surprise to those who have followed Duba's ascent. The striker emerged as a key figure in a triumphant campaign for Amakhosi last season, helping to break a painful, decade-long trophy drought by playing an instrumental role in securing the Nedbank Cup. His impressive contributions on that stage clearly made him a compelling prospect for clubs looking to invest in the future. For now, however, his future remains in South Africa.
