According to Marc Mechenoua, teenage midfielder Warren Bondo (18) is set to sign for Serie A side Monza, following the end of his contract at Nancy, who were relegated from Ligue 2 into the third division of French football at the end of last season following a dismal campaign marred by fan protests against the ownership. The young midfielder did however feature prominently during the unfortunate season, appearing 21 times in the league.
The move for the 18-year-old has long been discussed, with reports of the links coming out over a week ago. Mechenoua reports that there remain only a small number of details to resolve before the France U19 regular makes his move across the Alps. Once these are resolved, Bondo should put pen to paper at the start of the coming week.
Born in 2003, Bondo has been considered one of the brightest prospects in French football for the last 3 years, gaining good experience with the French U19 side, making 16 appearances with the squad and playing an important role in their run to the semi-finals of the European Championships this summer in Slovakia.
