Was van Nistelrooy right to banish £90k-a-week star from Leicester?

As if things couldn't get any worse on Filbert Way, further embarrassment has hit Leicester City Football Club. Unfortunately, in this instance elements of the story aren't totally clear. So we don't know who exactly is to blame. This is due to mysterious The Telegraph writer John Percy's ambiguous and slightly gossamer article. What we do know (if we trust Percy's typically accurate sources, probably our own players informing to his outlet as they often have over the years) is that a big argument reportedly exploded at King Power Stadium. Or at Seagrave Training Centre, to be exact.
Essentially Foxes manager Ruud van Nistelrooy had a bust-up with one of his most (or almost) prominent players. And the incident didn't occur with just anyone. The unfortunate situation developed between the former Manchester United forward and fairly high profile ex-Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks. According to Percy, the two are at odds over Winks' reluctance to adhere to group policy.
However, the 29-year-old seemingly has at least one very valid reason for doing what he did. That one important factor inevitably offers Winks a favourable reflection here. Independent aspects of the LCFC squad's entitlement coupled with their hugely unacceptable underperforming makes any scenario appear worse. Meanwhile, in all fairness, van Nistelrooy did attempt to build roster rapport whilst designing appropriate rules and standards. He just failed in those endeavours; almost everything else he's tried at Leicester has been unsuccessful.
Winks, like Jannik Vestergaard and a few others, are said to live almost a hundred miles away from the city. Consequently that questionable proximity, and a bad attitude at LCFC, has supposedly caused no end of problems.
When footballers won't buy into the club and live in the area, it can be counterproductive for the team. It also makes those professionals occasionally seem aloof and uncommitted. Evidently RvN agrees:
"Ruud van Nistelrooy has axed Harry Winks from his Leicester City squad after the midfielder refused to compromise on his 100-mile commute. Van Nistelrooy was involved in a confrontation with Winks over the international break after he declined a request to stay overnight one day a week at Leicester’s training ground (in preparation with training in the morning ahead of a key match)."John Percy
Though the 48-year-old has come out of this looking like the bad guy to some, ironically. Obviously this is because Winks has just welcome a new arrival:
"Winks, a £10 million signing from Tottenham Hotspur in July 2023, is understood to have his own private reasons for commuting every day to training and on Thursday evening, he announced the birth of a baby girl."Percy
Yet I can tell you this with absolute confidence - many of us in the Blue Army are absolutely exasperated with this unreasonably protected Foxes 'player power'! And that includes speaking to journalists behind the club's back, for me.
