Barcelona president Joan Laporta on Thursday confirmed to a member of the club’s fanbase the plans of he and his board to register summer signing Joan García with immediate effect.

The subject of Joan’s registration situation in Catalunya’s capital has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines over the last 24 hours.

This comes after Barcelona were handed an altogether timely boost.

After La Liga came to the conclusion that Marc-André ter Stegen’s current injury falls into the category of long-term, the Blaugrana were given the green light to make use of the German’s freed wages elsewhere.

As part of the same statement, confirming the news, Barca announced their intention ‘to immediately formalise the registration of player Joan García’.

And as alluded to above, on Thursday, Joan Laporta reiterated this plan to a member of the Catalans’ fanbase.

Stopped outside the Ciutat Esportiva by well-known supporter ‘Fredy’, Barcelona president Laporta explained:

“Now we’re going to register Joan García!”

Shot-stopper Joan, in turn, is expected to be at the disposal of boss Hansi Flick to face RCD Mallorca this coming weekend.
