Barcelona star Eric García was the latest victim of the traditional ‘hall of slaps’ at the club’s training ground on Friday morning.

This came in an effort to commemorate what is a special day for the versatile defender.

Eric is for his part of course fresh off seeing his long-term future as a Barcelona player confirmed.

Rewarded for his excellence across the season to date, the former Manchester City man was today revealed to have committed to the terms of a new contract, all the way through the summer of 2031.

Not long ago considered a bit part player in Hansi Flick’s squad, Eric’s teammates were therefore keen to make clear their delight for the 24-year-old at the Ciutat Esportiva.

This culminated in a ‘tunnel of slaps’ – something of a celebratory tradition in Catalunya’s capital – followed by a warm embrace on the part of his manager for Eric:
