Former Chelsea striker Timo Werner in the first game of his return for RB Leipzig as they drew 2-2 with FC Koln today.
Werner scored just 36 minutes into his return to the Bundesliga as 10-man RB Leipzig secured a draw at home to Cologne.
The striker rejoined Leipzig on a four-year deal for a fee of £25million earlier this summer after enduring two difficult seasons at Stamford Bridge.
Receiving the ball more than 30 yards away from the goal on his second Leipzig debut, Werner took a touch and launched a strike towards Cologne 'keeper Marvin Schwabe who fumbled the ball to his left side to put Leipzig ahead.
Werner's return strike marks his first goal for the Bundesliga side since he scored a brace against Augsburg in June 2020.
The 26-year-old scored 28 league goals for Leipzig in the 2019/2020 season, finishing second only to Bayern Munich's Robert Lew
