Real Madrid’s La Liga title push has taken a damaging hit, and this time the reaction has not just come from pundits or media – it has come directly from the stands.

The 1-1 draw against Real Betis has left Madrid trailing further behind Barcelona, and the frustration is now clearly visible among the supporters.

One of the most striking images from the match was Vinicius Jr., who scored Madrid’s only goal but embodied the team’s overall mood.

Every missed opportunity, every decision, and every lost duel seemed to add to his visible frustration.

His reactions towards the officials in the closing stages reflected a team struggling to maintain composure when it mattered most.

Frustration within the fanbase

The tension reached the stands after the full-time whistle, where sections of the travelling support were far from convinced by what they were seeing on the pitch.

As cameras focused, chants began to emerge.

“How shameless you are, show your faces,” shouted the fans.

As such, that reaction summed up the growing disconnect between the team and its supporters.

Notably, even when Madrid found the net, there was little sense of belief or momentum.

There were flashes of resistance, particularly through Andriy Lunin, whose series of saves kept Madrid in the game for long periods.

But even that felt temporary. Betis continued to create chances, and the late equaliser from Hector Bellerin felt less like a surprise and more like an inevitability.

Now, with Barcelona pulling further ahead in the title race, the reality is becoming unavoidable.

Real Madrid currently trail the Blaugrana by eight points, with the latter having one-game advantage.

So, if Hansi Flick’s side registers a win over Getafe later today, Real Madrid can technically say goodbye to their title push.
