Two former members of the first-team ranks at Premier League giants Arsenal were this week reunited in Spain.

The pair in question? Santi Cazorla, and Wojciech Szczęsny.

Both midfielder Cazorla and goalkeeper Szczęsny are of course currently plying their club trade in La Liga.

The former, now 40 years of age, is a leading figure in the midfield ranks of newly-promoted Real Oviedo. The latter, meanwhile, acts as the 2nd-choice option between the posts in the squad of reigning champions Barcelona.

Oviedo and Barca locked horns in a league meeting earlier this week, at the Estadio Carlos Tartiere.

And prior to kick-off, Cazorla and Szczęsny were responsible for a heartwarming moment.

After spotting one another on the pitch whilst the two sides were put through their paces in the warm-up, the former Arsenal stars – who spent three years as teammates in north London – came together for a warm embrace:
