After winning the Intercontinental Cup, Real Madrid’s dressing room was filled with joy and celebration.
Interestingly, one of the standout moments of that evening came from Kylian Mbappe, who was the star of the final, scoring one of Real Madrid’s three goals.
As the team celebrated their victory, Mbappe found himself in a light-hearted conversation with Luka Modric, a player with a remarkable 28 titles to his name, the most in the club’s history.
When Mbappe was reminded of Modric’s incredible achievement, he responded with a smile, remarking that Modric’s number of titles was “more than my age.”
“I hope to win another one for him and for everyone who is here,” he added.
The Croatian midfielder, known for his composed and humble nature, simply smiled back, clearly enjoying the friendly banter. Mbappe, with his characteristic ambition, added that he hoped to win more titles, both for Modric and for the entire team.
While this Intercontinental Cup marked Mbappe’s second title with Real Madrid, Modric’s collection of silverware is even more impressive.
The Croatian midfielder has now amassed 28 titles with the club, a club record that highlights his exceptional career. Among these titles are six European Cups, further solidifying his reputation as one of the greatest midfielders of his generation.
In addition to his success in Europe, Modric has lifted six Club World Cups, five European Super Cups, four La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey trophies, and five Spanish Super Cups.
Even at 39 years old, Modric continues to defy age with his performances on the pitch. While many players slow down as they approach the end of their careers, Modric’s influence remains as strong as ever.
His ability to dictate play and provide leadership makes him an invaluable asset to Real Madrid, and he shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
