An out-of-favour member of the defensive ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona continued in his efforts to win back the favour of manager Hansi Flick on Saturday.

The Blaugrana star in question? Jules Koundé.

Stopper Koundé was for his part forced to make do with a place on the bench for the latest occasion yesterday evening. En route to a 3-1 La Liga victory over Sevilla, the Frenchman was not afforded a single minute of playing time.

This means that, all told, Koundé has featured from the off in just two of Barca’s eight fixtures across all competitions this season.

As alluded to above, though, the 27-year-old has evidently not yet given up in his efforts to wrestle back a spot in the first-choice XI in Catalunya’s capital.

Following the full-time whistle at The Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán on Saturday, Koundé took to the pitch, to go through an individualised training session:
