Midfield icon Paul Pogba was quick to reveal his delight for on-loan Barcelona star Ansu Fati on the back of the attacker’s starring display on Sunday.

This comes, for those who missed it, after Ansu enjoyed an evening to remember in the colours of AS Monaco.

After opening his account for his loan club on the continent in midweek, the 22-year-old was introduced off the bench against Metz last night.

And to say that Ansu went on to make his presence felt would be putting it lightly.

After finding the net to break the deadlock within minutes of entering the pitch, the Spaniard then put Monaco back in front with his 2nd of the clash late on.

Adi Hütter’s troops, from here, kicked on to an eventual 5-2 triumph.

Ansu was for his part visibly affected by his long-awaited return to form, looking emotional both during and after the fixture.

And as alluded to above, the attacker’s achievements were celebrated by another altogether high-profile figure following the full-time whistle at the Stade Louis II.

Evidently delighted for his teammate, fellow Monaco summer signing Paul Pogba revealed that he predicted Ansu’s brace, in a heartwarming exchange between the pair:
