El Clasico is always a stage where stars are expected to shine, but for Vinicius Jr., last night’s clash turned into a forgettable outing.

The Brazilian winger not only struggled to leave his mark on the pitch but also found himself at the centre of confusion during his substitution, and later, at the receiving end of mockery from the stands.

Around the 75th minute, after a sprint down the left flank, Vinicius appeared to be in visible discomfort. He immediately gestured to the bench, asking to be substituted. Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti responded by preparing young forward Endrick for a substitution.

However, just as the change was about to take place, Vinicius signalled that he could continue, throwing the touchline into momentary confusion.

Eventual change

This back-and-forth added tension to an already charged bench, with some teammates visibly frustrated by the indecisiveness. Ultimately, Ancelotti waited.

But with the clock ticking towards full time and Vinicius again showing signs of distress, this time pointing to clear pain in his foot, the decision was finally made. In the 88th minute, he was replaced by Castilla forward Victor Munoz, who made his senior debut.

As Vinicius made his way to the dugout, an unexpected incident took place. A Barcelona fan stood up near the barrier separating the pitch from the stands and waved a beach ball at the departing forward.

Vinicius, visibly irritated, pointed at the fan and responded with a few words. The exchange was caught on cameras and another mobile phone recording from the stands, instantly going viral on social media.

The clip has since sparked widespread discussion online, with fans dissecting every frame of the tense moment. While many Barça fans viewed it as a harmless gesture, others criticised the provocation, particularly given Vinicius’ obvious physical discomfort.
