Southampton midfielder Aimee Palmer has been nominated for the Goal of the Month award in the Women's Championship, following her great strike against Durham.
The Southampton women's team had an exceptional November. In total, they played four games in the calendar month and didn't lose a single game. They won two and drew the other two.
Most recently, the Saints beat local rivals Portsmouth by a scoreline of 4-0. Considering they played away from home and rotated heavily at the half-time break, it's fair to say that Southampton had a great day out.
Now, the Saints women's side will not play again until December. They have a short break, so the perfect time for Remi Allen and company to reflect.
Aimee Palmer scored a terrific goal against Durham Women FC at the start of the month. While the game finished 1-1, Aimee Palmer put in a great solo display and scored a brilliant goal from the edge of the box.
After some intricate passing from Chloe Peplow and Rachel Rowe, Aimee Palmer picked up the ball on the edge of the box and lofted a great shot over the goalkeeper, finding the net at the far post.
Palmer's strike against Durham has been nominated alongside four other goals for the Women's Championship Goal of the Month award. She is in competition with Katie Kitching, Michaela Foster, Maria Farrugia and Isobel Goodwin.
