The latest twist, reported by AS, revolves around an incident involving Barcelona’s Pedri and Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham that has sparked fresh controversy.

What happened between the two?

The two midfielders endured very different fortunes during the match.

Bellingham emerged as Real Madrid’s hero after scoring the decisive goal, while Pedri endured a nightmare ending, seeing red in the dying moments of the game.

However, what truly grabbed attention was Bellingham’s remark directed at Pedri, which many have described as disrespectful and unnecessary.

The incident took place during the second half, when Pedri appealed to referee Cesar Soto Grado to show Bellingham a red card following a foul.

The Real Madrid star, clearly frustrated by the call, allegedly responded with a sarcastic comment, “Not even with Negreira,” he reportedly said.

This is a remark referencing the controversial referee payment scandal that has been a sensitive topic for Barcelona in recent years.

The incident

The sequence began in the 56th minute, when Bellingham, while breaking forward, extended his arm to shield the ball from Pedri

The Barcelona midfielder went down, prompting Soto Grado to whistle for a foul against the Englishman.

Bellingham, visibly irritated, reacted by mockingly touching Pedri’s head and imitating his protests with laughter.

Pedri, however, stayed on the ground, insisting that the foul warranted a red card. It was then that the Englishman is said to have made his ironic comment to the referee.

This exchange has now ignited debate across Spanish media, with many questioning whether Bellingham crossed the line with his remark.
