‘Watching From The Background’ – Rangers Under Pressure To Get Deal Done | OneFootball

Rangers are under pressure to get a deal for PSV Eindhoven forward Couhaib Driouech done because ‘several interested clubs are watching from the background’.

Daisuke Yokota, who touched down in Glasgow on Wednesday, became Rangers’ ninth new arrival of the window, underlining Derek McInnes’ determination to strengthen his wing options ahead of the new season.

However, despite the influx of fresh faces, a former Gers star admitted that further additions are still required, with the club continuing their search for reinforcements.

One player who appears to have emerged as a key target is Driouech, with the PSV Eindhoven forward open to a switch to Ibrox.

Rangers have already tested PSV Eindhoven’s resolve with an initial bid worth around €7.5m, but saw their offer rejected by the Eredivisie outfit.

Wih PSV Eindhoven wanting between €8m and €8.5m, Rangers are close to an agreement for the Moroccan.

And there is some pressure as, according to Dutch journalist Mounir Boualin, several interested clubs are monitoring the situation from the background.

Red Bull Salzburg, managed by former Rangers boss Danny Rohl, as well as Burnley, are among the clubs believed to hold an interest in the winger, although it is unclear if either have made a formal move.

The Gers are expected to return with an improved offer in the coming days and will hope they can reach an agreement.

Driouech joined the Eredivisie club two years ago and has since made 64 appearances for the Boeren, contributing nine goals and eight assists last season.

Rangers chased him two years ago and he has been on the radar at Ibrox since then, with the club now hoping to make good on their interest.

All eyes will be on how the situation develops, with Rangers looking to also agree personal terms with the player at the same time as agreeing a fee with PSV Eindhoven.
