Wayne Hennessey announces retirement

Goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey has officially announced his retirement from football.

The Wales international began his journey in the academies at Manchester City and Wolves.

He later went on to represent Crystal Palace, Burnley, and most recently Nottingham Forest, adding valuable experience across the Premier League and Championship.

On the international stage, Hennessey earned 109 caps for Wales, putting him joint-second on the all-time list alongside Chris Gunter - only Gareth Bale has more (111).

A key figure during Wales’ historic run to the Euro 2016 semi-finals, Hennessey has been a cornerstone of the national team for nearly two decades.
