"I wouldn’t feel comfortable about accepting another Premier League medal if I’m being honest, because I don’t think we deserve it. We didn’t do enough that season to win the league," said Wayne Rooney.

An independent commission has found City guilty of serious financial breaches between 2009-10 and 2017-18. The ruling exposed sham contracts and a disguised funding scheme alleged to have channelled more than £900 million through Abu Dhabi United Group Investment & Development Ltd to inflate revenues and cut costs. It also said the champions worked to frustrate a four-year investigation and to circumvent spending limits set by the League and UEFA.
