“We are a better team” – Enzo Maresca names the thing that’s changed in attack for his team this week | OneFootball

Enzo Maresca’s has picked his team for tonight’s game against Wolves, and very notable is the selection up top.

Joao Pedro and Liam Delap start a Premier League game together for the first time since August, when Delap picked up the hamstring injury which kept him out for two months.

There’s a strong feeling that the pair will link up well, and Maresca’s quotes pre-game back that up:

“When all our players are back, with Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, we are a better team,” the manager said.

“We need to do better against a low block, not concede silly goals, and then try to be clinical inside the box,” the coach explained in quotes to the Premier League’s media team.

Another major factor could be Chelsea’s big midweek trip to Azerbaijan.

“Chelsea only arrived back in London at 6am on Thursday morning after their 2-2 draw in Azerbaijan with Qarabag,” BBC journalist Nizaar Kinsella pointed out.

“That Champions League trip may have featured eight different players but only Pedro Neto was left at home and may have some kind of impact on the energy levels of this squad.

“Of course, they will expect to beat bottom of the table Wolves but it might just level the disparity in quality between the two teams a little bit.”
