One Chelsea player has come out with some defiant comments after he saw his side lose 2-0 to Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup last night.

The Blues were not really at the races last night and looked uncomfortable against a high pressing and energetic side.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea pick main candidate for new full back transfer pursuit!

Enzo Maresca didn’t look too worried about being 2-0 down in the game having only decided to use one sub, and also leaving star player Cole Palmer on the bench all game.

The players were poor last night too, and deep down you can ensure that Maresca would not have been happy about that. Many of them were poor, and some may not as well have even turned up.

But Renato Veiga, who started the game in midfield for Chelsea last night, has some words of comfort for Chelsea fans and says that they will be back and ready for the next game.

Veiga with the right reactions to defeat

In words picked up on the SPTC website today, Veiga said:

“We had the game. We did what the coach asked. We followed the plan. And yeah, it’s football. That’s why it’s the beautiful game, because it’s unpredictable.

“But we have to take our chances and we will do better. We focus on what we can control. We focus on the Premier League, we focus on the conference League, and we move on.

“We are Chelsea, we go every game to win, and now we have to focus on the next training tomorrow, and we move on every day like we’ve been doing since now, nothing changes. we we just lost the game.

“We got knocked out. it’s football. it’s part of football, and we move on and we focus on the positives above all.”

It’s a good response from Veiga and these are the words fans will want to hear.
