Queens Park Rangers have made one signing during the January transfer window so far, and with not long remaining until the end of the month, the hierarchy at Loftus Road have been urged to target a new winger as a priority addition.

The R's signed Ronnie Edwards on loan from Premier League side Southampton until the end of the season very early on in the window, but it remains to be seen whether they will complete any more incoming business before the February 3 deadline.

Marti Cifuentes' side enjoyed a run of four consecutive victories in the Championship prior to their defeat against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, and they currently find themselves six points adrift of the play-off places despite having made a poor start to the campaign, so if they do strengthen in the coming days, they could have an improved chance of making a push for the top six.

With deadline day fast approaching, time is running out for the Hoops to complete any more transfer business, but Football League World's QPR fan pundit believes they should be looking to do a few deals before the end of the month.

QPR transfer priorities outlined ahead of February 3 deadline

We asked our QPR fan pundit, Louis Moir, how his dream final week of the January transfer window would look, and whether there is a player he would have liked to see the club target - it looks as though the individual he would want though is heading elsewhere in the Championship.

"I'd like to see the likes of Dixon-Bonner and Santos leaving the club on loan," Louis told FLW.

"It would be good for them because they're not getting any minutes whatsoever, and they just won't for the rest of the season, so they need to go out on loan.

"I still think we are desperate for cover at left-back and another option up-front. I would ideally like to see a left-back and a striker come in.

"I think with the likes of Paul Smyth and Saito, and the fact that Dembele isn't back yet, we lack a bit of depth in the winger position, and sometimes you need to make change, and players need resting.

"One player who has done amazingly well in a lower league is Louie Barry from Villa. He's a dynamic attacker who can play out wide as a forward, and I think that would be absolutely ideal on loan.

"We've had a good relationship with Villa in the past with Tim Iroegbunam doing really well, and that is a signing that I would have liked to see happen.

"He would have given us that option of pace that we desperately need, and it would have added a bit more quality as well."

QPR set to miss out on Louie Barry but other winger targets need to be looked at

While Barry moving to Loftus Road on loan may be part of Louis' dream final week of the transfer window, the Aston Villa forward looks set to sign for QPR's Championship rivals Hull City, with BBC Radio Humberside journalist James Hoggarth having reported yesterday that the 21-year-old was set for a medical with the Tigers.

QPR were linked with the forward earlier this month, but it appears as though they have missed out on their man.

However, if Rangers can still manage to strengthen in a couple of the positions that Louis has highlighted - left-back, striker and winger - then they will do their chances of climbing the table no harm whatsoever, but it remains to be seen whether they will complete any business before the deadline.

A new winger though would be nice for QPR fans to see for the remaining few months of the season, and it would certainly bolster their chances of creating more chances in the final third and perhaps easing the pressure of Ilias Chair to be the difference maker.
