Luis Enrique led Paris Saint-Germain to a sensational 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in the Champions League final in Germany last night.

However, the Spanish tactician reiterated that they will not rest on their laurels after selecting the youngest team in a Champions League final in the 21st century.

Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Vitinha, Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes, Willian Pacho and Joao Neves proved too much for the ageing Inter side.

Doue, who stole the show with a man-of-the-match performance, set up Hakimi for the opener. The floodgates never closed as PSG sliced and diced Inter with sumptuous movement.

The young forward got in on the action before Kvaratskhelia killed off the game with plenty of time to go in one of the most one-sided maulings you will ever see in a Champions League final.

Doue scored again before teenager Senny Mayulu capped the win. PSG became the second French team to win the title after Marseille in 1993.

Enrique warned his European counterparts that they were not done. He said (via the Standard): “I said when I joined that my ultimate aim was to fill the trophy cabinet.

“I said that the only trophy that was missing was the Champions League. Not anymore. We are going to continue to conquer the footballing world.”

PSG took Inter to the slaughterhouse and made a statement. With a team bursting with youth, energy, and frightening cohesion, PSG could dominate for many years to come.

Doue is only 19, and Neves is 20. Kvaratskhelia, Vitinha, Mendes and Pacho are all under 25. This PSG squad is still developing.

Enrique has forged a fearless, fluid and fast-paced team that reflects the modern game at its most ruthless.

If this final was any indication, PSG have not just arrived. They are here to stay. The rest of Europe should take note – this young, dynamic Parisian machine is only getting started.
