Hansi Flick made several changes to his team for last night’s game against Levante, but was still able to get the required result, i.e., a 3-0 win. One of the most notable of these changes was dropping Fermin Lopez, who had started the last few games for the German coach.
However, the Spaniard still came on in the second half and was able to mark his presence by scoring the final goal of the game. As Mundo Deportivo has reported, he also talked to the media after the match, and talked about his goal:
“We were controlling the game better in the second half. I saw the space, and it ended up being a good goal. I have the option to shoot with both feet, I train it a lot, and when I can, I try it.”
The midfielder also talked about how he developed the skill of finishing the way he did last night:
“When I was younger, I couldn’t reach it because of how small I was! My coach during my loan at Linares insisted a lot that I try both feet, and I kept working on it. Before, I used to rush a bit too much.”
The Spaniard was clear on where he prefers to play:
“I prefer to play as an attacking midfielder, but I go wherever the coach puts me.”
Fermin also talked about the improvements his team had made and shown in this game:
“We were in a bad run with those two defeats, we did some self-criticism, and we played a great match. Improvement? We give too many chances to the opponent, but we corrected it because it’s not only the defense’s responsibility, but also the forwards’ for not pressing properly.”
This was another game in which Fermin Lopez showed how decisive he can be on the scoreboard, despite not having a lot of time on the pitch, and helped Barcelona get the full three points.
