In the past few hours, Julian Alvarez has found himself at the centre of one of the biggest transfer stories in European football.
The Atletico Madrid forward has been heavily linked with both Barcelona and Real Madrid, while speculation surrounding Florentino Perez’s mysterious €150 million target has only intensified the conversation.
As more reports and theories emerged, many began to wonder whether Alvarez could be the superstar the Real Madrid president had in mind all along.
Now, the player’s camp has finally addressed the rumours.
The latest wave of speculation gained traction after reports suggested that Real Madrid had made enquiries about Alvarez and viewed him as a potential marquee signing.

The story gathered momentum because the Argentine appears to fit the profile discussed in recent weeks.
Young, established at the highest level and already considered one of the most complete forwards in world football, Alvarez has naturally become a popular name in transfer discussions.
Some reports even suggested he could be the player Florentino Perez is prepared to invest heavily in following his re-election as Real Madrid president.
However, Alvarez’s agent, Fernando Hidalgo, has poured cold water on suggestions that anything concrete is currently taking place behind the scenes.

When questioned about the alleged Real Madrid interest and the possibility of ongoing negotiations, Hidalgo offered a brief but clear response.
He was quoted by Mundo Deportivo as saying, “We have no information on the matter and no one has contacted us about it.”
The comment does not necessarily end speculation, but it does indicate that no formal approach has reached the player’s representatives at this stage.
For now, one can really expect this story to die down easily, considering that an Atletico Madrid heavyweight is linked to both Real Madrid and Barcelona.
