Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League today.
They will be thoroughly disappointed with the performance, and manager Ruben Amorim has revealed the one thing that they lack in the game against Wolves today. The Portuguese manager believes that Manchester United needed more imagination and creativity against Wolves, but the players failed to deliver.
He said to the BBC: “We struggled in all the game. We had a lack of creation but we already knew it would be a different game to Newcastle. We had a different energy during the game. Looking at the 90 minutes we had our chances but the fluidity offensively wasn’t there. There is a lack of connections at the moment. “Completely different game to the last one. We had more men behind the ball, when you have that you have to work harder to create more, have imagination and play the game in a different way. We lacked that today.”
Manchester United struggled to create too many opportunities against Wolves, and that is simply unacceptable, especially at home. Despite having some of their key players absent due to injuries and AFCON, they had enough quality to grind out a victory here. Wolves have been the worst team in the league this season, and there is no excuse for Manchester United to feel to beat them.
