Ange Postecoglou has admitted Tottenham might not make any further signings this month, despite acknowledging the club’s hard work behind the scenes.

Spurs have been hampered by injuries to several key players this season with Postecoglou’s side languishing 15th in the Premier League table.

Fans have been desperately calling for new additions to help bolster ranks but, aside from the arrival of Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky at the start of the window, Postecoglou has revealed nothing else is imminent.

Speaking ahead of Tottenham’s crucial Europa League clash against Hoffenheim, Postecoglou hinted there might not be any further arrivals: “Yeah, potentially. The club is working hard to get some help for the players.

“As far as I’m aware there’s nothing imminent but in the last week of the window things happen quickly.”

Tottenham have at least been boosted by the return to fitness of central defender Cristian Romero but the Argentine World Cup winner didn’t travel with the squad to Germany.

“From the weekend, Reggy [Sergio Reguilon] and Djed [Spence] aren’t available and Pape Matar Sarr, he’s got a slight knock,” Postecoglou continued.

“We got [Rodrigo] Bentancur back. Romero was back in training but hasn’t travelled. He’s not ready yet.

“The reality is we don’t have a choice [with team]. We have no other options. We have 13 first team players who travelled.

“You’re always assessing why it’s happening [number of injuries]. Some things were happening repeatedly. Recent one is accumulation and scheduling. It’s not manageable having three games a week.”

Tottenham currently sit outside the automatic qualification places in the Europa League and could face the possibility of a playoff next month if they miss out on the top eight.
