Barcelona’s young sensation, Lamine Yamal, made a strong impact in last night’s El Clasico, contributing significantly to Barcelona’s commanding 4-0 victory over Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu.

The 17-year-old forward scored an impressive goal with his right foot, capitalising on Real Madrid’s defence, which seemed to overlook his dual-footed abilities.

Yamal, not initially standing out in the match, seized his opportunity in the 77th minute, slotting the ball confidently past Andriy Lunin and affirming his growing presence in the game.

Throughout the first half, Yamal worked hard to create chances for his team, although he struggled to find the decisive finish.

One key moment came when he faced Lunin one-on-one but was unable to get past the goalkeeper with a chipped attempt that didn’t quite reach its target.

Absolute mockery

Reflecting on the game, Yamal expressed his appreciation for the Barcelona supporters who filled the stadium with more noise and energy than expected, even on Real Madrid’s home ground.

The young forward couldn’t help but note the contrasting atmosphere, with Barcelona fans creating a more vibrant presence than the home supporters.

“It’s very funny when you see that the culers make more noise at the Santiago Bernabéu than the Real Madrid fans. The truth is that we knocked them out,” said the young forward.

Real Madrid’s assessment

Yamal also reflected on Real Madrid’s early performance, admitting that Barcelona had not been at their best in the first half.

“We played Real Madrid out of the park. The Real Madrid players didn’t know I had a right foot,” he noted,

However, as the game progressed, he noticed Real Madrid’s fatigue setting in, allowing Barcelona to dominate the latter stages and cement their victory.

“Madrid played well in the first half, and we were not at our level. In the second half, we noticed they were tired and we pushed harder.”

Lastly, he also pointed out that while critics often downplay Barcelona’s wins against mid-table teams, recent victories against world-class clubs like Bayern Munich and Real Madrid clearly demonstrate Barcelona’s ability to compete at the highest level.

“When we were winning at the beginning of the league, people said they were mid-table rivals, but now we have beaten two of the best teams in the world in one week.

“We have shown, both with Bayern and Madrid, that we are ready for anything,” he explained.
