Head coach Dino Toppmöller, captain Robin Koch and Can Uzun analyse the win at Hoffenheim.

Head coach Dino Toppmöller: “We were expecting a tough match and we got one. Hoffenheim’s game plan in possession was a very good one, with lots of players in the middle, lots of good players, and they tried to get in behind. But we defended very well overall. I really liked the way we defended but I would have liked us to have more control on the ball. Ritsu Doan’s brilliant first goal opened the door for us, and our second and third goals were really well worked too, from start to finish. That gave us some breathing space and we were never really troubled up until the 90th minute, when they scored. But those things, and others where we can improve, are just nit-picking really.”

Robin Koch: “We played really well for 60 minutes, created chances and were in control. On the whole it was a lot of fun. It was virtually a home game for us, which is crazy. It was a good game. Just like last week, we were good against the ball today. The boys give it absolutely everything, which is what’s asked of us. We’ve got a very young squad with a lot of potential, which we’ve seen in both games.”

Can Uzun: “It was a tough game, especially in the first half, but we played well. Things are going well for us. I didn’t have my best game today but at least I was able to score a goal. I can learn a lot from Mario Götze and I like playing alongside him on the pitch. He gives me a lot of advice and is still a world-class player. We’ve won our first three games and want to keep going.”
