Chelsea are preparing for another game in their packed festive schedule, with Bournemouth coming to Stamford Bridge tonight.
It’s an odd time to focus on the positives, given how results have turned sour in the last couple of weeks, but as we reach the end of 2025 was Marc Cucurella was asked to look back at the successes in the summer, where Chelsea won the Conference League and then the Club World Cup in the USA.

“I think we deserve these moments. Since the beginning, we started with a new idea and then we finished last season with two trophies. So I think it was a big achievement and the summer was a good point to restart, to put more work into it, to be more ambitious,” the full back said in quotes from tonight’s programme featured on the club’s website.
“We had some tough moments during last season, but we stayed together and then we finally won two big trophies. I think we should be proud of it, but for sure we want more.”
The full back won’t be able to help us get back on track tonight – he’s likely going to miss the game with a hamstring twang he picked up in the defeat against Villa on Saturday. They’re likely to miss his energy and competitiveness down the left.
Despite defeat in that game, Enzo Maresca has claimed that he saw a lot of positives in how the team played i the first 65 minutes. Let’s hope they can make it a 90 minute performance tonight.
Our predicted team for tonight’s game is pretty tricky as Maresca has a lot of competing priorities for the game.
