Nuno Espirito Santo has been clear that the January window remains unfinished business at West Ham United. Speaking candidly, the head coach framed recent arrivals as steps rather than solutions, with the emphasis firmly on balance and resilience.
“Now, we are in a moment of rebalancing our squad. Two players came in, Taty (Castellanos) and Pablo, who I consider good options. They are players that can help and that’s the word, we need help.” The language is deliberate, less about names and more about function, as West Ham look to steady themselves amid a demanding schedule.

Nuno stressed that improvement must come from within as much as from recruitment. “We need help from those that are coming, but we are the ones that have to improve and make the situation better.” It is a reminder that signings alone cannot shift momentum without collective response.

Behind the scenes, the work continues. “The club is working really, really hard to operate in this transfer window. Two bodies in, but we still need more. We still need to rebalance our squad.” With this being his first window in charge, the criteria is clear. “It’s the first transfer window we have, so we need to try and make it right. Players that come with purpose, players that come with the intention to really help and to join us in this situation, they need to be brave.”
