‘We worked our socks off’ – Bronze on Chelsea’s draw with Lyon

Lucy Bronze praised Chelsea’s resilience after their goalless draw with Lyon, saying the performance showed just how hard the Blues had worked following a demanding few days.

The defender was named Player of the Match after helping Chelsea keep a clean sheet against the French side.

“It shows what a tough battle it was today if a defender’s getting it!” Bronze said after being told she had received the award.

“As a team, we worked our socks off.

“I’m proud of every single one of us, especially considering we played a really tough game three days ago.

“We then had to fly to Lyon after that, so to put in a shift like today, I’m really happy with what we’ve done.”
