Wednesday: draws for Apertura, Clausura and 2026 Copa Argentina

The tournaments of the Professional League will keep the same format as in 2025, with two zones of 15 teams each, and the draw has been announced for 12 noon at the AFA complex in Ezeiza.

Independiente Rivadavia and the promoted Gimnasia y Esgrima will find out their opponents in their respective zones, the order of the matches, the interzonal classics, and the dates of a competition that will begin on the weekend of January 24 and 25.

The 2026 Apertura and Clausura Tournaments

The Apertura Tournament will be played in the first half of the year and the Clausura Tournament in the second half.
Each tournament starts with 30 teams divided into two zones of 15 teams each.
Within each zone, teams play each other once (14 matches) and two interzonal matches: one classic and another designated by draw.
After the group stage, the top 8 from each zone advance to the playoffs.
The final will be played at a neutral venue.

The draw for the 2026 Copa Argentina

The matchups for the 2026 Copa Argentina, which will feature 64 teams, will also be revealed this Wednesday the 10th.

Independiente Rivadavia, defending champion, will play the opening match, likely in January, and will represent Mendoza along with Gimnasia y Esgrima, Godoy Cruz, and Deportivo Maipú.
